About Payment Methods

EPOS360 allows merchants to expand their checkout options beyond standard payment channels by creating, enabling, and managing custom tender profiles. Whether your store accepts localized e-wallets (such as DuitNow), custom promotional vouchers, corporate house accounts, or internal testing tenders, configuring custom payment methods ensures front-of-house accuracy and clean backend reporting.

Before you begin

  • Verify that your administrative account has permission to access store settings and edit payment configurations.
  • Custom payment methods remain hidden from the cashier checkout screen until the Enabled switch is toggled ON (turns dark blue). Ensure newly created methods are explicitly enabled before attempting front-of-house checkout.
  • EPOS360 includes an automated cash rounding feature that rounds transactions to the nearest RM 0.05 for physical cash handling. This setting can be toggled on or off within payment settings based on your business preferences

Adding a Payment Method (Tablet View)

  1. Navigate to Payment Settings: From the main dashboard, tap More (four-square icon at the bottom-left corner), tap Settings, then select Payment (Manage payment methods).
  2. Create and Enable Custom Payment Option:
    1. Tap the Add Payment button in the top-right corner.
    2. In the Payment Name text box, type your custom tender description (e.g., Voucher, Corporate Account, or Testing1).
    3. Toggle the Enabled switch to ON (the toggle bar will turn dark blue).
    4. Tap the blue Save button at the bottom.

Confirmation: A green “New Payment Added” toast notification banner will flash at the top of the interface.

  1. Verify New Payment Method at Checkout:Verification.
    1. Tap the Sell tab on the navigation bar.
    2. Select an item from your menu grid (e.g., AMERICANO).
    3. Tap the cart summary bar (e.g., Charge – RM 2.95) to expand the order summary slide, then tap Pay.
    4. Verify that your new custom payment option appears on the checkout selection grid alongside baseline payment options (e.g., Cash, DuitNow).
    5. Select the payment method, tap Exact: RM 2.95 (or key in 2.95), and tap Pay RM 2.95.

Confirmation: A green check badge displaying “Paid Successfully” will appear, confirming the payment method is active and logging sales correctly.

Adding a Payment Method (Mobile View)

  1. Navigate to Payment Settings: From the main dashboard, tap More (four-square icon on the far right of the bottom navigation bar), scroll down, and select Settings > Payment (Manage payment methods).
  2. Create and Enable Custom Payment Option: Scroll below the active default payments list (Cash, DuitNow, Voucher) and tap the blue Add Payment button.
    1. In the Payment Name field, enter your custom tender label (e.g., Testing1).
    2. Slide the Enabled toggle switch to ON (turns dark blue).
    3. Tap the blue Save button.

Confirmation: A green “New Payment Added” toast banner will flash at the top of the screen.

  1. Test Checkout Execution:Verification.
    1. Return to the main menu and tap the Sell tab.
    2. Tap an item card (e.g., AMERICANO) to add it to the cart.
    3. Tap the Charge – RM 2.95 cart bar, then tap the blue Pay button.
    4. Select your newly created payment method from the grid, tap Exact: RM 2.95, and tap Pay RM 2.95.

Confirmation: The terminal will display a green “Paid Successfully” badge to confirm transaction completion.
