Who is this article for?
- Store Managers & Business Owners setting up their initial EPOS360 menu, updating product pricing or organizing store catalog structures.
- Front-of-House Staff & Cashiers who need to add new daily specials or temporary menu items on the fly directly from the POS device.
About menu creation
Items are sellable goods and services that make up your menu and product catalog. As you add your menu details to EPOS360, you can create, edit and manage items. Items can be categorized into distinct categories to keep your point-of-sale layout organized and easy for staff to navigate.
Before you begin
You can create and manage items directly within the EPOS360 interface. When you create or update an item, the changes reflect immediately across your register and sales reporting tools.
- Unique Identifiers: Each item requires a unique Product ID string for structural tracking and backend database reporting.
- Categories: You can create and assign categories on the fly while building items, or assign existing categories to keep your register organized.
- Taxes: Tax parameters can be toggled per item depending on whether the product requires tax computation at checkout.
Creating an item (Tablet)
1. Navigate to Items Management
From the main EPOS360 home dashboard interface, tap the More icon (four-square logo or bottom right navigation tab). Select Items from the operational features list to load the Manage Items workspace.
2. Initialize Manual Item Creation
Tap the blue Add Item button. From the Add Items drawer options that slide up, select Create Manually (Manually enter item details).

- Product ID: Enter a unique code string to identify this item for tracking and backend reporting (e.g., type 1).
- Tax Status: Toggle the Tax Applicable switch to ON (blue) if this item requires tax computation at checkout.
