EPOS360 BlueTap has been deployed to 100 vendors at selected Ramadan bazaars in Lembah Pantai, giving small merchants a POS system built for the speed and cash-handling pressure of the buka puasa rush. The rollout is a joint effort between EPOS, TNG Digital, Touch ‘n Go Group, and Communications Minister and Lembah Pantai MP Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and builds on the earlier launch of EPOS360 as a mini-programme inside TNG eWallet.

Why bazaar vendors need a faster POS system

Bazaar vendors lose sales in the seconds it takes to handle a slow or unclear payment, and peak-hour queues leave no room for counting change or checking multiple QR codes. EPOS360 BlueTap addresses this directly: it’s a single over-the-counter device that processes TNG eWallet tap-to-pay, alongside other payment methods, without requiring vendors to juggle separate terminals or apps.

How EPOS360 BlueTap works at the point of sale

EPOS360 BlueTap gives an audible confirmation the moment a payment goes through, so a vendor serving food with both hands doesn’t need to stop and check a screen. The device also accepts any NFC-enabled smartphone, extending tap-to-pay to customers beyond TNG eWallet users. Card payment acceptance is planned for BlueTap in future, alongside the tap-to-pay and instant confirmation features already live.

What EPOS360 does beyond payments

EPOS360 gives vendors real-time transaction insights and product management, replacing the manual sales reconciliation that typically eats into a small business owner’s evening. Vendors can also use EPOS360’s AI-powered tools to build digital menus and run marketing campaigns, reaching TNG eWallet’s base of more than 25 million users nationwide. TNG eWallet’s Near Me feature is set to integrate with EPOS360 next, letting nearby users discover participating bazaar stalls directly through the app.

Why this matters for Malaysia’s SME sector

SMEs make up 97% of business establishments in Malaysia and employ around 48% of the national workforce, making initiatives like this one relevant well beyond a single festive season. Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) chief executive officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil said the initiative supports Malaysia’s goal of becoming an “AI nation” by 2030 by making digital tools affordable and easy to adopt for businesses of all sizes.

EPOS chief executive officer and Ant International vice president Alan Wang said digitalisation has become a necessity rather than a luxury for SMEs, and that giving vendors the right technology helps them access opportunities that were previously out of reach.

What’s next for EPOS360 BlueTap

The Lembah Pantai bazaar rollout is an early, localised deployment of EPOS360 BlueTap, following its introduction alongside the broader EPOS360 launch in Malaysia. Vendors and organisers interested in EPOS360 or EPOS360 BlueTap can reach out to EPOS or TNG Digital directly for details on expanding the programme to other bazaars and retail settings.
