This FAQ covers everything you need to know about the BlueTap payment device, including functionality, setup, pricing, security, and daily operations.

1. Product & Functionality

BlueTap is a flexible payment acceptance device designed for micro merchants, cafés, bazaars, beauty salons, home-based businesses, pop-up stalls, and small retail outlets.

BlueTap accepts payments via QR code and Touch ’n Go (TNG) eWallet Tap-to-Pay.

When a payment is successful:

  • voice announcementconfirms the transaction and amount received
  • Payment details are recorded instantly

Supported payment methods:

  • QR code payments via all local banking apps
  • E-wallets (including Touch ’n Go)
  • DuitNow QR
  • WeChat Pay / Alipay
  • Credit & Debit Cards (coming Q2 2026)

BlueTap pairs with EPOS360, giving merchants access to:

  • Real-time business performance dashboard
  • AI-powered campaign generation (coming soon)
  • OCR functionality (coming soon)

Note: You must be a registered Touch ’n Go merchant to use BlueTap.

Yes. All successful payments trigger an automatic voice announcement.

Yes. The announcement is triggered immediately after a successful payment.

Yes. BlueTap supports 12 volume levels.

Yes. BlueTap supports:

  • QR scanning via all supported banking apps
  • DuitNow QR
  • Touch ’n Go Tap-to-Pay

Both static and dynamic QR codes are supported:

  • Dynamic QR: You enter the amount on the device; a unique QR is generated to reduce fraud
  • Static QR: Suitable for simple, fixed-amount transactions

Not yet. Credit and Debit Card acceptance will be available from Q2 2026.

BlueTap offers more advanced payment and fraud-prevention capabilities:

  • Dynamic QR Code– Enter the amount on the device to generate a unique QR per transaction
  • Static QR Code– For simple payments
  • Touch ’n Go Tap-to-Pay– Customers tap their phone without opening the app
  • Card Payments (Q2 2026)– Visa & Mastercard, including PIN/Chip, PayWave, Google Pay, and Apple Pay

No. BlueTap does not have a built-in printer.

From Q2 onwards, BlueTap will support Bluetooth connection to external printers.

EPOS360 is the companion app for BlueTap, accessible via the Touch ’n Go merchant mini-app.

With EPOS360, you can:

  • Track sales in real time
  • Manage products and operations on the go

Coming soon features:

  • AI marketing campaigns
  • OCR menu upload
  • Sales & revenue analytics
  • Auto upsell & cross-sell

2. Connectivity & Setup

BlueTap works with either:

  • Wi-Fi
  • SIM card (CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile)

No. You will need to provision your own SIM card and data plan.

Yes. BlueTap is plug-and-play.

Payment announcements will not be triggered without an internet connection.

Yes. BlueTap is portable and can be moved between locations.

3. Reliability & Performance

If a payment announcement fails (e.g. due to network issues), you can:

  • Check transaction records in EPOS360 or the Touch ’n Go merchant dashboard
  • Rated battery life: up to 8 hours
  • Typical real-world usage: 4–5 hours

We recommend keeping the device plugged in whenever possible.

Yes, as long as the device battery is charged.

4. Pricing & Fees

  • Promo price: RM199 (RM214.92 incl. SST)
  • Original price: RM299 (RM322.92 incl. SST)

There are:

  • No hidden fees
  • No recurring monthly charges

This is a one-off payment for a limited time.

  • 0% MDR for DuitNow QR
  • 0% MDR for Touch ’n Go TaptoPay

Yes. BlueTap comes with a 1-year warranty.

  • Settlement to TNGD wallet: Instant
  • Transfer from TNGD wallet to bank account: 1 business day


Summary:

  • Weekday payments → credited next business day
  • Friday/weekend payments → credited on Monday
  • Public holiday payments → credited next working day
  • No, BNPL or credit facilities are not supported.

5. Integration & Reporting

No. BlueTap only connects to the EPOS360 mini-app within the Touch ’n Go merchant dashboard.

It does not integrate with thirdparty POS systems.

Yes. All transactions can be viewed via:

  • EPOS360 mini-app
  • Touch ’n Go merchant dashboard

6. Security & Compliance

Yes. BlueTap is PCI-compliant, and all payments are processed securely.

Yes. Payments are only announced after a successful transaction, and the received amount is displayed clearly

7. Operational Use Cases

One-to-one device replacement, subject to approval by an EPOS technician.
